"I am not frightened by a free society. I'm frightened by those individuals who prevent us from having a free society. That's where our real threats are," -Ron Paul

I am slightly enraged that I am only hearing about this bill now. The NDAA is a bill, well on its way to becoming a law, that if passed will allow the imprisonment of American citizens and legal residents of the United States at any detention center across the world indefinitely, without any evidence or trial; all that is required is an accusation from the White House.
To learn a little more about this issue, check of this Article from yesterday:
Since that Article was written yesterday it does not include this new and horrifying update: the House of Representatives passed the NDAA overwhelmingly last night by a vote of 283 to 136.
If you would like to see how your representatives voted click here.
Now this bill is on it's way to the Senate whom have already attempted to pass an earlier version and were only halted after Senator Rand Paul discovered the provision that "allowed Americans to be detained even if they had been found not guilty by a trial." This provision has now been amended to Sec. 1032: “The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to citizens of the United States." This ONLY means that the President is not REQUIRED to indefinitely detain American citizens without charge or trial. "It still PERMITS him to do so,” warns Congressman Justin Amash.
I understand that no one wants a repeat of 9/11, no one wants to endure another terrorist attack but PLEASE ask yourself: 'Why are they pushing this through now?', 'Why is this not top news?', and most of all ask yourself 'Why are we allowing the government to take our rights away one by one? Are we really going to allow the government to have complete and total power over us?'
Changes need to happen and they cannot happen unless we are all informed! Please pass this on to everyone you know. Also please pass me any information about current events you would like to share.
